Here's a new warning from health experts: Sitting is deadly.

Scientists are increasingly warning that sitting for prolonged periods - even if you also exercise - could be bad for your health. And it doesn't matter where the sitting takes place - at the office, at school, in the car or before a computer or TV.

This Makes Your Chair Your Enemy!

It doesn’t even seem to matter if you go running every morning, or you’re a regular at the gym. If you spend most of the rest of the day sitting in your car, your office chair, on your sofa at home, then you are putting yourself at increased risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and an assortment of cancers. To put it another way, irrespective of whether you exercise a lot, sitting for long periods is bad for you.

That, is the conclusion of several recent studies. These studies have shown that if you consider only healthy people who exercise regularly, those who sit the most during the rest of the day have larger waists and worse profiles of blood pressure and blood sugar than those who sit less.

Now, considering most people in my line of work sit around an awful lot in cars, trains and chairs I thought it would be a good idea to try to dig up some solutions to this common problem.

But Does A Solution Even Exist?

I have a friend who seems to think there is. His name is Barry Danser and he has been studying Tai Chi and Qi Gong for 25 years. He discovered the healing benefits almost by accident after a serious whiplash injury left him with a serious neck injury.

Through the study and application of Qi Gong, he made dramatic improvements in his health. He now even runs classes for people in London for people who want to release tension, ease aching joints, become more flexible and even prolong the effects of aging!

Hmm, Sounds Too Good To Be True. I Wanted To Try This Out For Myself...

The perfect opportunity arose last weekend at my home in Leicester where I had gathered together several very well known UK property experts for an advanced quarterly meeting that I call the ‘Strategic Entrepreneurs’ meeting. This is an opportunity for me to discuss the latest property investment strategies with several leaders in the field. Barry was there too and I asked him if he wouldn't mind running a quick session for the group. He said he wouldn't mind and here’s a quick video that I made of Barry sharing several powerful techniques with us:

Part 1

Part 2

The investors in the room loved the exercises and found the session very good for relaxing the body and clearing the mind. If you liked video useful please share it with others by clicking the share button on this page or using the various social networking links below (facebook, twitter etc). If we can work together to help just a few other people recognise the dangers of physical inactivity then who knows how many lives we may impact for the better?

Oh and one last thing before you go. You can find out more about Barry via his website which is: wakeupandbreathe.com
