| |  Waste Pipe Blocked £280 + vat!
Hi guys,
Just thought I would ask if anyone can recommend a drains specialist in or around Barnsley, South Yorkshire as I've just been quoted £280 + vat to get the blockage removed!
Basically the main waste pipe is severly blocked and there's water leaking from the waste pipe bend. The water then trickles onto the ground and down the road and is now starting to freeze on the ground.
The tenants uncle tried to help her and clear the blockage with some rods but has had no luck.
Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations as I think £280 + vat is quite expensive although having said that I don't want people suing me if they slip on the ice so I might not have a choice.
Not a great start to Christmas 2010 is it?

Not a great start to Christmas 2010 is it? | We have paid £45 + vat to have a drain cleared 3 times this year due to the family putting women’s products down the toilet. They charge an extra £20 + vat to put a camera down once the line is clear.
We finally had the drain dug up, dug down around a meter, and a new 90 deg bend put in plus a new access point in the drain pipe at £330.00.
If we can prove it’s the family fault we charge them the cost of the repair. We always try to be present at the time to see what has caused the problem.

We have had drains unblocked 6 times this year, three times at the same property (it turned out eventually to be a collapsed drain) It cost us between £50 - £80 plus £20 extra for camera. No unblock, no fee.
Your quote of £280 seems pretty excessive.

Regards Arshad | Just had email from Saddat who gave me contact details for a drain specialist who operates in Yorkshire area.
He couldn't believe what I was quoted and says that he'll come tommorow afternoon and have a look for me. He says anything upto £100 is what you'd expect to pay for jetting and clearing a blockage.
Thank god for this forum and especially to you the people who strive to help other investors in need and make the forum what it is.

Hi
Dyno rod do a fixed fee service now, one price to clear, another if camera needed etc. Can't remember prices off the top of my head but It was considerably cheaper than other companies I called.
