I am looking to buy a flat which is 1 of 5 and has no damp... but a couple of the other flats at the back of the house have some damp. I'm told if it gets to bad then all the flats may have to pay for the whole thing to be put right... does that sound right to you guys?
Will depend on a number of factors but if yours is a leasehold flat in a property with 5 other leasehold flats then damp probs could well be a cost to be split across all leaseholders, if it's damp associated with material fabric of the building. Worth getting copy of buildings insurance from the freeholder to see if policy will cover any of the costs? Hope this helps
