Default Getting started

I am desperate to get involved in the property business with a mix of buy to let and renovations. I visited the property investment show in London recently and have read numerous books, researched the internet endlessly, chosen a buy to let area, spoken to a financial advisor but still I can't get started. Has anyone found it as difficult as me to get started?

Default Thanks

to Leslie and John who sent me encouraging e-mails. I think I am just scared I will get it wrong. Also I am not sure how to find a a bmv property - I have been viewing properties through estate agents which I think is a wrong move hence I have not bought anything. I am looking at the leads posted by fellow investors but haven't seen anything yet in my area but I will be keeping a close eye.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hilary

Default Getting started

Hi Hilary, welcome aboard. Getting started is difficult. You probably know lots of theory, so start modestly, make mistakes and you'll learn much more quickly.
One thing, don't share your plans with 'nay-sayers'. These are usually people close to you who can puncture your dreams. They're just scared for you or envious you've got the balls to try what they dare not.

Getting started is the hardest part - you've read the books, been to the shows and joined this forum. Sounds like you're already well on your journey and on your way to your first deal! :D

Nothing builds your confidence like actually completing on a property, so I hope a successful deal comes your way soon. Keep looking and you can even find deals with estate agents (you need as many avenues as possible for your search). If you need advice, just ask on the property chat forum.

You've got 500+ of the smartest property brains in the UK and me on your side! "Property investing just got easier" - (might trademark this before Deep borrows it).
