Hello everyone. Just a quick introduction to say that I'm here to learn and share anything with regard to property investing, and closely related concerns.

My wife and I began investing in property a few years ago having returned from living in the Far east for a number of years with this in mind. I currently have 3 businesses to run, and following much reading, networking and discussion have realised that we could have invested with a different and more effective mindset altogether. We were on the right track, but because we didn't have actual 'goals', mixed in with traditional thinking and entrepreneurial spirit, our true potential could not be realised. It just requires working smarter, not harder. Hence the piles of reading material and wealth creational board games we now have. Now comes the act of 'doing' rather than theorising. I also believe in spreading risk, i.e. having interests in property and a business (which it's hoped will one day go public, and then I'd sell-out and start another - OR keep it, but let others 'work' for me).

So there is my pitch, and I'd just like to add that I'd also like to invest to keep/hold (i.e. buy-to-let, as we currently do in Southampton) as well as buy-to-sell (flip). My goal is 'passive income' first, but capital appreciation welcome too of course.

Next is deciding which areas of the UK and overseas could acheive one or both criteria. Anyone with a story to tell in either or both of these domains?

Glad to meet you Nick & Mike. It's good for Southampton that you have a season ticket, Nick, but unfortunately I'm not one to get too excited here...... I don't watch sport at all.... I know, I know I'm in the minority, but I like being that way
