Have finally got myself organised and uploaded my picture (i'm on the right).

I am based in a village near Edenbridge in Kent not far from Gatwick airport. I have been involved in property for the last 2 years purchased 6 off plan apartments (big mistake) and done a few refurbs learning all the mistakes as i go along.

I am now buying BMV properties in the north east of england where the yields are better currently purchased 5 in the last 3 months. Aiming to purchase at least 3 per month. I also do mentoring for my friends and collegues who are interested in buying property but don't have the time to look they would rather be armchair investors.

If anyone is in the south east and would like to meet up and exchange ideas then get in touch.

Hello Clive, and welcome to this forum. You seem already to have 'what it takes' regarding the property mindset and mental attitude.

I'd be interested to hear your stories re the overseas purchases, and what made you consider the deals unworthy.

Also your understanding in the purchase cost vs. rental yields arena (i.e. northern England as opposed to the SE) is something we are looking seriously into, and has much value and implications in the long term too (the SE I think must, sooner or later, overheat.... it cannot go on like this.... even though they've been forecasting a downturn for some time now).

I, like you, am looking for deals also in the SE, and they are around, but not as plentiful, perhaps, as the NE. I think there may be some mileage in us chatting about these areas at some point. Feel free to do so as and when you wish; I'll be only too happy to oblige (although I think you're ahead of me speed wise, Mr. 'future' Tycoon! )

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome. This is a great forum and Heidi you always bring a smile to my face with your chatter.

Ian.....I haven't purchased any overseas property yet, the off plan purchases I mentioned have been here in the south east. These are 2 bed apartments which average £200,000 each but struggle with the rents. Hence this was my decision to buy up north as I could purchase 3-4 properties compared to 1 down here. I will be happy to chat more or meet up just let me know.
