Hi to everyone. I have just joined the forum. I am a research scientist working for a multinational pharmaceutical company based in Loughborough. I got my first BTL (in Leicester) by accident many years ago. We moved to Manchester but couldn’t sell the house we lived in. A couple of years I sold it and used the equity to buy 2 BTLs in Nottingham. Rental just about covers mortgage but good prospects for capital growth.
The property “bug” really hit last September and I started to read everything I could, attend various property shows etc. I am not sure who said “Don’t wait to buy property; buy property and wait”. So in the last few months I have bought 4 properties in the North using a property investment/sourcing company. I am not interested in new builds so these are older properties providing a small positive cashflow. I hope they do well in the medium/long term.
So now what? I would like to build my portfolio but not sure what next. BMV acquisitions are a possibility but not sure where to start…..buy a course (eg Greg Jackson), attend a course (Glenn Armstrong, Ranjan Bhattacharya)…learn negotiating skills etc etc. I am not keen to leave my job (enjoy it too much), so there is a lot to ponder over, so any advice gladly accepted.

Raj,
I'm a property sourcer based in Scotland, but we also get a lot of BMV deals in the north of England - not as discounted as you may want, but ours are 7-10% BMV with valuation and full report available. Finders fee is £1500+vat
