Hello everyone on the Property Tycoon Chat Forum,

My name is Hans Storrie from Corby, Northamptonshire.

I am a Carpenter/Builder in my own company and recently formed
a new Property Company - UK Property Associates Ltd

Although I've known about the techniques in buying BMV properties, I'm still very new and probably still green around the ears. Deep's course, 'Success Through Property', along with Richard Shephard's negotiations course recently, has given me the motivation to become financially independent and to get off my butt... and actually do it.

After sitting on the idea for 3 or 4 years to get involved in property, I've probably lost out on a few thousand pounds in capital growth and many good deals I presume, should I have started earlier.

I would like to think I'll get much assistance, advice and help from the experiened members here to guide me on the right path.

If any member is in need of Building advice/costings etc, I would be glad to help any way I can.

I am looking to purchase BMV properties in an around the Northamptonshire area. If anyone can pass a lead or two my way, It would be more than appreciated. Alternatively, anyone wishing to get together for possible JV deals, friendly chat or a possible beer (or 2), just let me know.

I'd like to this opportunity to thank Deep and his colleagues for puting together, what I believe, is a remarkable property forum. A "One-Stop" shop for all our property queries.

I sure hope I can contribute, even being green, in the not too distant future.

welcome to the forum. I am a complete newbie and completly green never mind around the ears. I am looking at purchasing my first BTL in August so advice on building works would be great if I require it.

If however I can offer any help or advice then please just shout.

Hans - was up in Corby last week. I met an investor ( not on this forum ) who has two BTL properties in the town.

He told me that the BMV market is VERY competitive and that he wouldn't entertain getting involved. He's gone down the 15% Buy To Let route. I'm not sure I agree that its "saturated" with BMV dealers though - would you ?
I'd be interested in trying to pick some deals up in Corby - as a relative newcomer also, perhaps we could help each other?

I'm going to MK tonight - perhaps we can chat some more then ?

I am not too far from you in Bedfordshire. Nice to know that i could call on a builder for advice. I am looking to buy and let to housing assoc. I worked for an organisation that was crying out for houses to rent but couldn't get them due to the nature of their client group which is ex-offender. I know this client group inside out and have excellent working relations with local authority and funding organisations. The missing piece was building know how. I am new to all this so hoping to learn loads.

How far from Northamptonshire are you willing to travel for building projects ?

Do you refurb or just provide carpenter/build service ?
