Deep's asked me to pop along and introduce myself, so here I am.


Graduating in 1992, I worked for about 12 years in IT, with some of the UK's leading companies, including Kingfisher plc. (where I was an IT Controller, responsible for the websites of Woolworths, Superdrug, Comet, and B&Q) and BP (where I was European IT Manager for a $700million joint venture company, responsible for IT across 17 countries.)

In parallel with this, Mary and I built up a portfolio of investment properties in London and the South East.

In 2003, when our daughter was 6 months old, we retired.

In 2005, having found retirement to be a little too boring, we set up a property training company.

I also started working with / for Darryl Mattocks on his latest venture. For those who don't recognise the name, Darryl first became known when he founded the UK's first commerical website in the early 90s, then became one of the UK's first "Internet Millionaire" when he sold the Internet bookstore (which he founded) to WHSmith for £7.4million, and then did something similar again when he founded Travelstore. I was a non-executive Director of his new business - Domia ltd - from the middle of 2005 till the end of 2006, during which I basically got paid to spend a day a month learning from one of the true greats.

During of 2006, I did some consultancy work for an Internet startup in financial services , and at at the end of the year, was asked to step in as CTO.

I'm now concentrating mainly on that business, but still run the negotiation training course 4-6 times a year.


In 2004, I recorded the CD programme "The UK Property Millionaire" with Nightingale Conant. In 2006, I worked with Entrepreneur TV and International Real Estate TV, primarily (it must be admitted) to promote that programme.

In 2006, after much encouragement from Deep, I released the ebook of "Property Negotiation", which is now being turned into a paperback (ISBN: 978-1-84753-845-1) and will be available from Amazon, Borders and other bookshops of taste and discernment later this year.

I'm also working on another book project on property, this one far more mass-market, in collaboration with someone from Channel 4... but more about that once we're ready to launch :-)
