Hi All,

My name is Richard Roe (Dick). I am just about to retire from the RAF and will be returning from a NATO post in Norway to our main residence in Scotland in the next few weeks. A busy period. Having just signed up on this Forum, and still working through Deep's excellent Course, I am excited by the prospect of commencing my new career in Property!

To start with, I think I will be more interested in buy-to-sell rather than buy-to-let, though no doubt I could be tempted by very lucrative letting deals. I will probably concentrate my activities in Scotland, specifically Edinburgh and the other Scottish cities, but will consider expanding to the northeast of England - Newcastle, Durham, maybe down as far as Ripon, Harrogate, York.

I look forward to working with you, to share your knowledge and expertise, and will welcome all the help and support you can give me.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your recent part-retirement. You may find this expression familiar, which I still use as table talk:

"I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up".

Property is my fifth career change in 30 years, and the penultimate. The last career change I want is to buy and sell companies for no money down, unless I put the slippers on first (unlikely).
