Hello, my name is Tony. I'm 47 years old, married with two children (seven & ten) & living in NW London. I've had a varied career, mostly in retail management. I became involved in property about three years ago, through my furniture retail business. Two of my customers were 'buy to let' landlords and helped me get started (for a price), with my first five properties in Bedford.
I got so hooked on property, that I closed my business down August 2006 and went into property full time. I now have a portfolio of twenty properties, that I aim to expand to fifty in the next twelve months. I have properties in Bedford, Doncaster, Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Liverpool & Newcastle, sourced by finders or off the internet. They're mostly freehold two or three bedroom houses, but there are four two bedroom flats.
I do get bored working on my own, so if anyone wants to meet up during work hours or knows of any property related meeting, please let me know.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on going full time. Once you have attended a few property meetings, you won't be bored, or you won't be working alone. Try to find meetings near you from these forum members, or even those unassociated with the forums. I went to a couple of The Money Centre meetings last year, and I also went to some cheese and wine presentations by the polished "15% discount newbuild brigade" just to get a feel for what younger people attend. I even went to a "Inside Track" freebie, and was given the hard sell treatment - if you sign up NOW.......................................... I told them I'd gladly pay their full fee by signing up later, when it suited the time schedule of me and my wife. After further consideration, and some good advice from others on here, I decided not to attend, and bought a property with the same funds instead.
