Hi to all the members...
I’m a musician and writer who has been dabbling in renovations in rural Southern Ireland with a couple of partners while indulging in too much educational reading and too little action in regards to the UK property rental market. I have managed to buy one rental house in Liverpool, which is performing fine, but I’m really looking to get into investing in HMOs, or even converting large properties into well-appointed flats for the disabled. I think I know easily as much as I need to know to get started, but I’m in that annoying vacillating stage, in possession of cash and poised before the first leap, but wondering exactly where to leap to…
I don’t want hundreds of properties, my goal being ten fully paid up HMOs, and then I'll be able to do nothing but play drums and go fishing! I aim to do this by starting on mortgages and lease options, then topping up with Internet marketing projects. It’s a bit scary to write that down here, as it commits me even more to getting it all up and running – but that’s no bad thing for a lazy semi-reformed hippy like me!
Also, due to the arrival of a new baby making traveling harder, and needing more cash for UK deposits, I have had to curtail my Irish endeavours and I’m looking to sell,
JV, or swap (for UK rental house) a 1.3 acre plot of land with existing cottage in a beautiful area near Tipperary. Find full details and photos at
Irish Renovations and if anyone’s interested, or has any other creative ideas, please drop me a line.
I'm really looking forward to mopping up some of the wide range of expertise on this forum.
