Hi

My name is Andy. I own a Direct Marketing company and have a small portfolio of properties in the UK and possibly abroad (long story). We, I include my wife who is the brains of the outfit, have always had an interest in property after becoming an accidental landlord 15 years ago (still have the same tenants, so I must be nice). We got involved with Inside Track,IAP and the charasmatic Jim Moore which was a huge learning curve, and will one day be a chapter in my book and be titled, the good, the bad and the expensive!! . I have spent the last year acting on a creditors committee with 5 other people, trying to win back our (and 152 other investors) large deposit on a US development that went into chapter 11 (before it went into chapter 11 I was dealing direct with the developer) which led us to spending two days in Orlando negotiating with the banks, developer and bankruptcy lawyers. Huge experience especially when it was left to two of us to work out the deal after 14 hours of negotiations, and turns out to be better than what a top Orlando litigation lawyer got for his clients!! Now involved with negotiations on a Spanish development.

Also just completed our first HMO which again was an interesting experience and learning curve and we also bred and own international show jumping horses.

Just joined the TMA and I am really looking forward to it and although it doesn’t start until August, I am very impressed with the support and feedback already received from them and look forward to using the forum.

Welcome Andy. Sorry to hear you've had some negative experiences of investing in Florida and so glad to read you didn't give up and haven't let it put you off investing further.

I have oodles of Florida litigation experience having worked with one of the top 100 super lawyers out there for a few years, in one of the top law firms in Miami.
